Patrick Bates is a singer/ songwriter and multi- instrumentalist from Richmond, Va.
Self- taught, he began performing in the early 2000’s.
‘Salad Days’ draws from a decade of writing and recording, utilizing the skills of his local musical community in between tours as a musician and mix engineer (Bob Moses, Phantogram, Head and the Heart). The title is tongue-in- cheek; “It’s kind of an inside joke with myself. I am fully aware that many records share this title, and it is kind of a play on that. To me Salad
Days represents the feeling of a time when things weren’t so serious.”
The six tracks all feature Ash Bruce (percussion) and Chris Dowhan (production) with additional strings, brass, and electronics.
Powerful rhythms and melodic syncopations drive this collection of rock songs, which will be available in a limited run of 12” white vinyl with custom full color inset.
